In times past, churches generally enjoyed what was known as Charitable Immunity- protection from many lawsuits on the basis of being a charity organization. However, those days are gone, and churches generally face the same duties and expectations as a for-profit organization, and is subject to litigation just the same. It is vital that churches protect their assets and their reputations from the risks that litigation presents.
